The Statewide Independent Living Council of Georgia (SILCGA) is seeking to hire a Housing Policy
Coordinator. The Housing Policy Coordinator will ensure the development and implementation of
SILCGA’s systems advocacy and initiatives as it pertains to the issue of accessible and affordable housing.
The coordinator assists and engages with community partners to identify gaps in housing law, policy,
practices, or systems that disproportionately and adversely impact Georgians with disabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher; or 3-5 years’ experience and demonstrated competence in the
    areas covered by the job description.
  • Be capable of reviewing housing-related legislation to assess and articulate its potential impact
    on Georgians with disabilities;
  • Demonstrate knowledge of public and private affordable housing programs, especially those
    that are intended to serve people with disabilities;
  • Understand how governmental agencies function and the appropriate role of 501(c)3 non-
    profits;
  • Research, analyze, and present complex information effectively;
  • Communicate in a clear and persuasive manner; and
  • Possess excellent writing skills.
