Sukie Glick, Social Media Intern

A resident of Atlanta, Georgia for just over three years, Sukie is now the Social Media intern with the Statewide Independent Living Council of Georgia. Although born with Arthrogryposis, Sukie only began advocacy and peer support in the disability and independent living movement, at the age of 18, with the FL Independent Living Council’s Youth Senate. From there, he went on to be a part of the development and progression of the Youth Advisory Committee. In 2014, Sukie was hired to be the Youth Specialist and Social Media Specialist, with disABILITY LINK. This is not the first time Sukie has worked with a Center for Independent Living. He was an advocate and case manager for the Center in Daytona Beach, FL, in 2010. In addition to the title with disABILITY LINK, Sukie was the co-chair on the Association of Programs for Rural Independent Living Youth Steering Committee, the 2014 NCIL Diana Vietz award recipient, and an active member on the National Council on Independent Living Youth Caucus.

Rebecca Ramage-Tuttle, Assistant Director

Becky Ramage-Tuttle is the assistant director at the SILC. Along with having a life-long disability, she has been active in the Independent Living Movement for over 25 years – 17 of those in Georgia. Becky received her Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Administration from DePaul University. She lives in the eclectic town of Decatur with her husband, George and her canine, Annamae.

Loretta Simmons, Office Assistant

Loretta Simmons is the newest member of the SILC family.  She is probably the first voice you will hear when calling the office.  Affectionately known as Lori to the staff, she is there making sure everything flows smoothly.  Her connection to the disability community is a very personal one, as she is the mother of an adult daughter with a disability and so has a heart of compassion and hands willing to do whatever she can to make the lives of those living with any kind of disability better.  For Lori working at SILC, is not just a job, it’s a ministry.
